When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit?

We receive the promised holy Spirit when we believe in Christ.

 This question "WHEN DO YOU RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT" seems to be quite common with likely much complications.

 After reading How To Receive The Holy Spirit, the next case study should be When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit?

Do You Know When You Receive The Holy Spirit?

The Promised Holy Spirit

 It is worth knowing that this Holy Spirit is the promised spirit unto a certain set of people.

 While our Lord Jesus Christ spoke concerning this Holy Spirit of promise, He cleared the space of doubts while pointing to the state of faith.

 Concerning the Spirit of promise, He said;

 "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:16).

 To clear every doubts, He separated His own from the crowd through the significant Promised Holy Spirit which we realize in our lives today.

 Furthermore, He pointed to the faith of His own by letting them know that His Spirit shall be in them.

 That was the promise of the Holy Spirit which is also a mark of ownership; declaring us "God's properties."

 Having known of the existence of this promise, it is worth knowing that many people whom the Lord draws to Himself are also experiencing its fulfilment.

 Have you received the holy Spirit? When did you receive the holy Spirit?

When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit?

 As a 'new convert' as we usually call those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, I had a great desire for the Holy Spirit.

 On the other hand, the zeal was so much that I attended "Holy Ghost Impartation" meetings and services just hoping I will someday receive the holy Spirit.

 Honestly speaking, this was all as a result of the teachings and doctrines which I may have received by then, concerning the holy Spirit.

 In another thought of today, it's fair to say that I was quite ignorant of who the Holy Spirit is.

Then, I was still expecting Him to come as God's third person to give me gifts of tongues and the likes. Now, I no longer see Him that way.

 It is an undeniable truth that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts including speaking in tongues and much more (with fruits inclusive).  He becomes comely when we see Him as the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION. (Read Romans 8:14-15).

 The question, When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit is a very important question which has been misunderstood by many people.

 While I look forward to giving a clear answer to the matter, and from the written word of God, I encourage everyone to give this message all available, attentiveness.

When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit? (The Appropriate answer).

We receive the holy Spirit when we truely believe the Gospel.

 "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)" (John 7:37-39).

 The appropriate answer to When Do You Receive The Holy Spirit was given by our Lord Jesus Christ, though in a parable.

 A further study clarifies that the Holy Spirit is for the believers in Christ Jesus, received by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." (John 20:31).

Remember that He called Him the LIVING WATER. When you come short of life, and have a taste of the Living Water, it is certain that you will thirst no more.

 Now, I can boldly say that the experience of the Holy Spirit is not a one time or once upon a time experience. It is a lifetime experience of God in us.

You Receive The Holy Spirit Of Promise After You Believe The Gospel Of Our Lord Jesus Christ

 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory." (Ephesians 1:13-14).

 It is true that the Gentiles were declared God's own (approved and accepted by God) through the receiving of the Holy Spirit, after they had believed the word of Truth.

 As a result of unacceptance by those who believed in observing the laws of Moses to be saved, there was a great dispute amongst the people.

 This dispute continued even unto Jerusalem where the Apostles and elders were.

 "And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us." (Acts 15:7).

God Confirms The Salvation Of The Believers By Giving Them His Holy Spirit

 God confirms the salvation of a believer by giving him or her the Holy Spirit. When you believe, what do you receive? The Holy Spirit!

The Lord says in Revelation 3:20;

 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."

 Faith is the key to the door of your heart being opened to the Lord's knocking in the preaching of the Gospel.

 When you truly believe in Jesus Christ, you grant Him access into your life.

 Actually, He won't keep knocking! As soon as the door is open, He will come in and dwell with you in you.

 "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." (2 Corinthians 3:17).

"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:8-10).

 Do you truly believe in thine heart, the Lord Jesus Christ? If you do, the confirmation is the Lord in you (through and by His Spirit; the Holy Spirit).

 Believe Him, and Receive Him in Jesus name!
