How To Overcome Depression And Stress

Do you know HOW TO OVERCOME DEPRESSION AND STRESS? What is that thing that is depressing or stressing you out?

Be rest assured that you can deal with it.

It is certain that life can be quite unfair with certain people at certain times. But we should never blame life, itself for anything because we can always do something good with our lives.

In this message, How To Overcome Depression and Stress, we will be focusing on the case of DEPRESSION, as well as how to overcome it.

What Is Depression and Stress?

According to an article on Medical News Today, "Depression is a mood disorder that involves a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest."

Kindly take note of the word persistent.

That being noted, DEPRESSION is the persistent feeling or state of unhappiness and hopelessness for a better future.

It can result from an unpleasant incident such as loss of jobs, decease of loved ones, family or relationship issues, an event or other discomforting situations.

One thing about stress is that it can be managed but depression has to be treated or better said; overcome!

Are you depressed and looking for how to overcome depression on your own?

If I may ask, What caused your depression? Would you mind sharing them with us?

My Own Experience Of Depression and Stress

As a person, I have experience my own shares of depression in different areas of life.

In the aspect of my career pursuit, I have reached a point of no return from purpose.

Sometime ago, I felt so lonely. It was as if no one wanted to help even when I knew I had something to offer. I could boldly say I was in lacks and wants.

You see, I got a lot of discouragement from writing as an author, and singing as an artist.

I could see others going ahead with extravagant supports which would be sufficient for additional numbers of people, including myself.

It seemed no one was interested to support the growth of the little I discovered in me.

I felt life was a miserable journey to embark on. Infact, I felt left behind by vertically everyone.

So, I went on Rapfame to voice out with the title: Left Behind. And all I was requesting for, was just an impression.

I needed someone or something to create the impression that was lacking cuz I was deeply in depression and stressed all through in many frustrations.

It took a long time to get to know How To Overcome Depression and Stress.

Fortunately in the process, I wrote a book titled, My Sober Reflection: One Day At A Time.

In the book containing only four chapters, I told my readers the thoughts of my mind. And how I finally got the treatment to my torments while writing that very publication.

How To Overcome Depression and Stress

This is how Joseph overcame depression and stress.

Let me not keep you on my saddening stories. It was all in the past. The solution is right before, not behind. Let's talk about the overcoming aspect of it.

If you search for how to overcome depression and stress, you will definitely find many good suggestions.

Some of which are; doing exercises, going out for events, making out time for fun, talking to a therapist, taking medications and much more.

Another suggestion of how to overcome depression on your own is positive self talk.

Honestly, this is one of the best for me. That is if actually, you can overcome depression on your own.

What if you've tried all that has been said but still haven't gotten the expected result, what would you do?

Some people may consider committing suicide which is certainly not the best option. That's why I won't hesitate to tell you these!

How To Overcome Depression and Stress (Biblically).

Amongst many people who had experienced stress, trials and many painful moments, brother Paul was able to prove the victory he had over the world and its products (including depression).

He was living in sufficient impression of Hope which is sure in the person - Christ Jesus.

In Paul's message to the Philippians, he said:

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." (Philippians 4:11-12).

Take note of the bold indications I placed on some words and phrases in that passage.

Paul made it very clear that he learned how to adapt and maintain stability both of body and mind, in every situation.

Whether in good times or bad times, he was still brother Paul, ready to reach out to the lost with the Gospel.

You will agree with me that some of the likeness of his experiences has led many into kicking the bucket at early stage and in depression.

Some as a result of not being contented with what they have, involved in activities, risky to the lives.

Some gave up their dreams and ambitions due to lack of financial supports. But in Paul's case, he was rejoicing in them all! WHY!?

Actually, brother Paul gave the answer to that by himself. He said:

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13).

Hallelujah!

Paul's ability to do all these, was anchored on the strength from Christ Jesus. Why not give Him an opportunity, if you haven't?

 Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."

Remember that Paul said that he learned. Now, Jesus Christ is telling us to learn of Him. In doing so, we will find rest to our soul (rest from frustrations, depression and stresses of this world.)

The strength to stay, strong and stand firm amidst the storms of life, is in Christ. Being in Christ makes you an overcomer of all that has to be overcomed.

Are You In Christ Jesus?

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." (1 Peter 5:6-7).

Take This Moment Seriously

Wherever you are, lift your hands and worship, worship. Worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Worship Him in the beauty of His holiness; casting all, not some but all of your care upon Him. Tell it all to Him!

Worship! Worship!! Worship!!! For He cares for you. Hallelujah.

Conclusion

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." (Hebrews 13:5-6).

Glory to Jesus! Glory to Jesus!! Glory to Jesus!!!

Jesus is taking over! Jesus is taking over!! Jesus is taking over!!!

 Oh hallelujah.

God is touching that heart. Yes! He is touching that heart! That depressed heart, that depressed soul, God is touching. Yes He is touching! Glory to God.

  2. Mine is caused by persistent idiosyncratic insomnia that's lasted for 14 years now and getting worse. Some people enjoy life and are happy being alive. For me, life is pain; I'm simply enduring life and not living it. I wish I was never born. My prayer point now is to die.

    1. Hi beloved. I understand. If I am to be honest with you, I must tell you that death is not an option in this case.
If you could live with it for 14 years, what makes you think you aren't living? Beloved, you see, there is a purpose for this course.

I'd love to chat with you personally. What you need do now is change the way you think about. Remember that as long as there is life, hope is not lost.

Don't pray to die, pray to overcome. You are the living testimony the world is waiting to hear and see.

Come out of it! Believe that you can. Take that step forward and be it. Don't forget where your strength is (in Christ).

Hoping to hear from you soon.
      Shalom in Christ Jesus.

  3. There's no way you could understand, and I don't pray you do because that would mean experiencing it, which I won't wish anyone, even the devil.

Prayers to overcome — Jesus can do all things? Since he refused to do it for the past 14 years, I'm already tired. I don't think he can, but if he can and refused to do it all these years, nobody is more wicked than him. Right now, all I want is rest in peace.

    1. Hi beloved. I appreciate you responding to my reply. Your response is a typical picture of how you truely feel. But you know, I love your sincerity.

If I may ask, have you seen a therapist? If not, I encourage you to do so.

On the other hand, you've got to realize that God has purpose for keeping you alive amidst your feelings. He is equally able to heal you of it.

I've been living in this for years in the ignorance of my family members and many others.

People outside who noticed, usually ask so many questions. All I say is "I'm fine." Meanwhile, I knew I was dying slowly from inside. Well, I felt no one could help me out as no one seemed to understand me.

Honestly, some people called me a saddest and all I thought was committing suicide and I never had an opportunity to see a Therapist, though some concerned people tried to know what was wrong, I never knew how to start saying how I felt neither trusted I them.

I felt life from a very difficult angle and keep wishing I was never born. Usually, I said, "God why me?"

To cut it short, I'm a living testimony of God's goodness. I don't know how, but He's taught me to always rely on Him no matter how if feel.

There was this scripture that always came to my mind - Isaiah 49:15 which says, "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."

I decided to believe and trust in God's word, learning to deal with my depression.

Your case may be quite different base on the cause, but it's nothing God cannot handle. I also learned to do a positive self talk while always trusting God in every situation.

I pray you reason with me, seeing that death is not the best step for you. I advise you get a therapist if you have to. Furthermore, please use the "Contact Us" below to send me a message.

Thank you very much, God bless you.

    1. Yes, I agree with you where you use the word "HEAL." I strongly believe God for you. All these things will surely pass away. It doesn't matter how long they have stayed.

Well, you've got to believe it too. I'm still looking forward to seeing your mail. God bless you.
