Why God Came In Human Form by Joseph Edem Bassey

God came in human form to deliver and save humanity.

"For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." ~ Mark 10:45.

INTRODUCTION

From our recent message on The Revelation Of God In Human Form, we were able to discover that God is one and the Christ; Son of the living God is God in the likeness of man.

According to John chapter 10 verse 30, Jesus Christ said, "I and my Father are one."

In verse 31b, He added, "... that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him."

So God manifested in human form through His only begotten Son, and God's only begotten, full of grace and truth, is God!

Furthermore, we discovered that God has a personality and a name.

God's Personality:

God is a Spirit, and the difference between God's Spirit and other spirits is; God's Spirit is Holy. Therefore, God is the Holy Spirit.

In John 4:24, it is recorded, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." While Psalms 99:9 says, "Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy."

God's Name:

 According to Matthew 28:18-20,

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Question: What is the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost?

From The Revelation Of God In Human Form, we discovered that the name of God is JESUS, hidden from the old and inherited by Christ, the only begotten of the Father in the flesh! (Read Matthew 1:21, Hebrews 1:4, Philippians 2:9-11).

Therefore, God is the Father, God is the Son, and God is the Holy Ghost! God is One. God has a name, and that name is JESUS.

Note:

The Son of man is God in the form of man.

Why Did God Come In Human Form?

When a question like this is being asked, people often come up with many answers according to their points of views.

If I may ask, Does calling Canada the Canaan land because of their rhymes make it Canaan? No, it doesn't. Or, does calling the United States a twin of the United Kingdom because of the 'united' make it true? Don't forget that we also have the United Nations. It is necessary that we get into the basis of things before concluding from our points of views.

When it comes to the knowledge of God, it is a revelationary activity that occurs in the secret. This is why we all should be willing to know God for ourselves!

Do you know why God Came in human form? Do you know the purpose to which He came to accomplish? Let us dive into this message prayerfully, hoping that God will drive us into more revelation of Him.

Why God Came In Human Form

"And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." (Luke 4:14-21).

While doing a study on the lifestyle of Jesus Christ on Earth, it was revealed that His basic activity, aside praying and teaching, was healing! Now, the gospel of Jesus Christ is basically the gospel of the kingdom of God, accompanied by healing.

"And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." (Matthew 9:35).

Jesus Christ did not come as God to proof any point, He came to perform the plan of God towards His people.

If you read History Of Humanity: The First Adam and The Last Adam, you will see where the first Adam surrendered to Satan by disobeying God. At that moment, sin became a part of man; demanding for its wages which is death.

A mysterious activity that occurred was a transfer of dominion power from man to Satan because man was infected with a disease produced by Satan. That disease is called SIN. This is to say that man's disobedience to God, made man sick of sin, and man became a slave to Satan.

This sickness of sin, from the first Adam has been running in the gene of mankind, until God came, not of the first Adam but as the last Adam.

"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven." (1 Corinthians 15:45-47).

So the first man being of the earth with his defendants is earthy, while the second man being of the Holy Spirit is the Lord from heaven, and He is the last Adam. He came from heaven to put an end to the spread of the sickness of sin in the gene of mankind.

"The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." (Acts 10:36-38).

He came in the form of man to enable Him pass through due process and pay the price for the redemption of mankind, and remission of sin.

Healing For The Most Disastrous Disease

 Referencing The Present World

It was discovered by experience that the covid 19 pandemic impacted lives and properties negatively. Great nations and economics of the world experienced depreciation as a result of the infectious virus. Who could believe that the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), China, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Indonesia, France, Canada, Australia, Turkey and other great nations of the world, would join other developing countries to halt (lockdown) to the growth of the pandemonium? Imagine the lost in persons, positions and properties as a result of the out break. What a life touching experience for the survivors?

Still, covid 19 pandemic is no way close to the most disastrous disease in the world; the disease that leads to death and eternal damnation. It is called SIN.

When Jesus Christ came to the world, He was after the patients of the disease called SIN.

Why? The reason is because He came to heal them.

You may not know how much we lost as a result of being infected with SIN, but Jesus Christ came to restore them all!

"And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Matthew 9:10-13).

Before now, Prophet Isaiah foresaw the revelation of Why God Came In Human Form and did reported of Him according to the word that was told him.

"Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

2. For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." (Isaiah 53:1-12). Also read John 1:1-14.

Jesus Christ came not for the righteous, but that sinners may be saved. He came to heal those who are sick of sin, and set us free from the slavery of Satan.

 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."(Romans 3:23-26).

While sin was demanding for its wages, God came to ransome His people from it plagues. He came that He may take our place of sin. Being made a substitute for us, His blood was shedded for the remission of the sins of the world.

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." (1 Peter 3:18).

"For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9:19-28).

What Shall We Then Do?

This is a question usually inquired of, though in common formats. Having known these much, I would love to add that God came in human form to perform the rights for the perfection of humanity. He didn't just come to die for mankind, He came to restore all that was lost by reconcile us with the Father. In other words, God reconciled us with Himself and by Himself. He did this in the person of Christ Jesus.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

If ye love me, keep my commandments." ( John 14:6-15).

Wow! Jesus Christ is calling us into faith with the Father. He is telling us to believe the truth, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:19).

Also, He is telling us to prove our love for Him, not only in words but also in deeds. Get to know His commandments of love, and keep them in our hearts.

To crown it all, we should also take up the Word Of Reconciliation and reach out to the world. But how can we do all these, if we haven't accepted all that God has done for us? Make it a personal question and be sober about it.

Conclusion With An Encouragement

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:55-58).

Call To Repentance

Are you a partaker of the victory in Christ Jesus? Have you accepted Christ into your life as your Lord in all?

"He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:11-13).

Are You Born Of God? This birth is by Christ Jesus.

"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:14-17.)

Do you want to be made anew from your old life of sin unto God's righteousness in Christ Jesus? Why not surrender to Him today?

Prayer Of Salvation

If you want to surrender to Jesus Christ, pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for your word and love towards me. I know I am a sinner who has been deceived by the world and deserves, death. Therefore, I come to you for soul salvation and I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Thank you LORD for saving me in Jesus name.
