Bible Verses To Overcome Depression (1)

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." (Matthew 24:6).

Many people having heard of wars and the disastrous happenings around the world, have lost hope in life. They feel they may not make it into another day.

The lost of loved ones cannot be forgotten in a moment, contributing to the depreciating moods of the relations.

On this note, the word of God is encouraging us not to be troubled at these news and happenings.

But we must pick up our broken pieces and keep going, for the end it not yet.

There is more to come, and we shall be victorious at the end.

Bible Verses To Overcome Depression (2)

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Our Lord Jesus Christ has made it known to us that even in all these things, we have victory ahead because He has overcome the world.

It is worth knowing that as Believers in Christ Jesus, we are not of this world. Therefore, the world may war against us, but we must rest in the peace that only Christ offers.

Don't be discouraged or depressed, but be of good cheer!

Bible Verses To Overcome Depression (3)

"Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you." (1 John 3:13).

There is undoubtedly a high level of hatred among people in the world.

Many suffer from family hatreds, societal discriminations, rejections and the likes from friends, relatives and even some loved ones.

Obviously, the likes of these has led many into depression. The case of Believers' persecutions cannot be silenced in a moment.

Many Christians are depressed due to trials and persecutions (world's hatred) resulting from their belief in the message concerning Christ Jesus.

Loved ones and brethren in the Lord are sent to sleep because the chose to stand for what they believe on.

Seeing and experiencing these, has led a lot of people into sleepless nights, frustrations and hopelessness for the future.

The world may hate you. It's because you are not of this world. Remember the case of our Lord Jesus Christ and be encouraged in Christ Jesus.

Bible Verses To Overcome Depression (4)

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee." (Isaiah 49:15).

This is one of the verses in the Bible which encouraged me to overcome in my depressing moments.

Having read it, I usually heard it ringing in my mind each time I was going down. It gives me the assurance that God is with me, even to help me through it all.

Yes, you may be passing through difficult times. Be encouraged, God has not forgotten nor forsaken you!

Bible Verses To Overcome Depression (5)

"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" (1 John 5:4).

It is true that all has not overcome the world because not all truely believes that Jesus is the son of God.

Depression is a product of this world and victory over the world is equally victory over the things of this world (including depression and its brethren).

We must encourage each other with this truth; our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has made us partakers in His victory over the world.
