While others try to present facts and suggest possible steps for overcoming lust of the flesh, there is definitely a way to overcome lust of the flesh!

Find out from this article: How To Overcome Lust Of The Flesh by Joseph Edem Bassey.

What Lust Of The Flesh Mean?

Do you know what lust of the flesh means?
Before looking at how to overcome lust of the flesh, let us briefly look at what lust of the flesh means.

What Is Lust?

Lust means an extravagant desire or an unrestrained feeling.

What Is Flesh?

In this context, Flesh refers to one self.

Lust Of The Flesh

Combined together, Lust Of The Flesh means the selfish, extravagant or unrestrained desire of oneself, in oneself and with oneself.

It is usually an immoral feeling (or desire) which takes place in the mind of a person (usually pertaining to bodily or material things).

It is the craving for sensual gratification; the pioneer of the sinful nature of man.

Where Comes Lust Of The Flesh?

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world." (1 John 2:16).

According to the first Epistles of John, "the lust of the flesh" originates or comes from the world (the worldly things of the flesh, desired by the flesh).

Your choice is very important in this case.

How To Overcome Lust Of The Flesh

It is worth knowing that many people are in slavery to lust of the flesh and are looking for how to overcome it.

At the same time, many people have discovered the way and keyed into it, living in freedom from yielding to sexual or immoral desires.

Have you discover the way to overcome lust of the flesh? Overcoming the lust of the flesh is in one Way and only on one condition.

The Way To Overcome The Lust Of The Flesh

For this course, many have listed out different steps and stages, but Jesus Christ said, "I am the WAY..." (John 14:6).

 Apostle Paul further explained the WAY by saying;

"This I say then, WALK IN THE SPIRIT, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." (Galatians 5:16-18).

  •  The Way to overcome the lust of the flesh is walking by the spirit of God.

  • Being led by the spirit of God is antagonizing the lust of the flesh.

  • Submitting to the Holy Spirit (what He says in you, to you and is willing to do through you) is your response to the will of God.

Submission to the works of the Holy Spirit in a person may not be the best steps, but it's the only way to overcome the lust of the flesh; living in the liberty of Christ.

Do you have the Holy Spirit in you? How do you respond to His dealings in you?

If you must overcome the lust of the flesh, let go of facts and take hold of the Truth (the Holy Spirit is the Helper of all Believers in Christ Jesus).

Are you among the believers in Christ Jesus?

"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." (Romans 13:12-14).

Conclusion:

It is the Will of God that we live like our Lord Jesus Christ lived. But how do we, if we don't accept Him and allow His indwelling spirit (Holy Spirit) to lead our lives?

The certification of our victory over the flesh (including its lust) is in the finished works of Christ.

Believe in Christ Jesus, and receive the new birth through His Spirit.

Never forget that Christ is the Word of God that can change your world for ever.
